Atlassian has announced plans to build the world's tallest hybrid timber structure. The 40-story building will be built of wood, glass and steel and will serve as the company's HQ for thousands of employees.
Ecology should be a key indicator. According to the authors of the project, the construction is to generate half as much carbon dioxide as other buildings. And its subsequent operation is to be covered 100% by renewable sources, which will be taken care of by solar panels built into the facade. Consumption will also be half lower than that of ordinary office buildings.
Completion is scheduled for 2025. Atlassian has said that it will create 2,500 new jobs and bring the Australian economy nearly $ 1 billion a year.
"This is the future of real estate," commented Alexandra Tomášková, Skanska Executive Vice President for Skanska Commercial Development in Hungary and the Czech Republic.
