In the last few years, beekeeping in the Czech Republic has become a fashionable affair—one that’s flown in from the countryside to Prague. You can find hives on the balconies of apartment buildings and the roofs of banks, hotels, and shopping centers. They’re keeping bees on the roof of the National Theater, and a “smart” hive will be installed above the offices of the Praga Studios administrative building in Karlín.
Just imagine. You’re not shivering with cold because your workmate turned on the AC. The air in the meeting room isn’t stuffy, and the light in the kitchen doesn’t burn your eyes. Wherever you go at your workplace, you have ideal conditions—they’re precisely the ones you prefer. That’s because you’re working at Office 3.0.
More than 300 000 sqm of new office space is being constructed in Prague, according to CBRE study. Almost two thirds of it will be available in 2018. So let´s have a look at some of the new projects. Very soon you will be able to run a marathon of the rooftop of the building in Holešovice district or visit the smartest office building in Europe (being built in Warsaw).
Two years ago, the IT company Tieto moved its headquarters to the new Keilalahti Campus administration building (in the city of Espoo in southern Finland). Since then they have built it up into one of the smartest offices in Scandinavia. Up to eight thousand sensors watch literally every employee’s trajectories. According to the vision laid out in the promotional video, very soon workdays will be organized through a special mobile app—it will show you the best route to work, automatically open the garage door, make your favorite latte even before you step out of the elevator, and automatically turn on your computer when you walk up to it... “The way we work today has changed dramatically from even a few years ago. Driven by new technology, people have greater expectations than ever before when it comes to their working life - they expect it to be as flexible as their personal life,” decribes Patrik Etelävuori, Head of Concepts and Innovations - Facilities at Tieto.
