The new fish in the development pond, EDGE Technologies, is working on its second office building in Amsterdam. Thanks to advanced technologies, they aim at the strictest ecological sustainability criteria. The company co-works with architects who originally designed the former building back in the 1970s.
EDGE Amsterdam West, like all company´s buildings too, will have a distinct atrium covered by a massive glass dome (fun fact: it would easily fit a Boeing 737). This central meeting point is designed to nudge tenants towards healthy life choices, which is why they have added 4 prominent staircases, and somewhat concealed elevators.
Located in the core area of Amsterdam West, the building is based on a design by de Architekten Cie (formerly Oyevaar, Stolle & van Gool). Designed by the same architects in the 1970s, the original building was one of the first offices in the urban development of the area.
The EDGE Amsterdam West project already attracted APG and Alliander companies. It is due for completion in 2021.
