Most of us connect virtual and augmented reality with hyper-realistic illusions — with computer games. The administrative building located between St Paul’s Cathedral and the Bank of England in London is quite likely Europe’s most environmentally friendly administrative building. The newly completed European headquarters for the FinTech and data company Bloomberg was given a rating of Outstanding (98.5% out of a maximum of 100%) by the BREEAM assessors, who rank projects on their environmental, social, and economic sustainability. The building is designed to use 73% less water and 35% less energy than a standard office building. For example, the ceiling panels are covered in 500,000 energy-saving LEDs. “We believe that environmentally friendly practices are as good for business as they are for the planet,” said Bloomberg’s founder Michael Bloomberg.
The year 2017 brought five times more administrative centers than there were built in a previous year. According to KPMG Czech Republic there were only 33.000 square metres of new offices finished in 2016. "We assume that in 2017 and in 2018 the numbers will get back to a usual level of 160.000 square metres per year," said Pavel Kliment from KPMG CZ. Take a look at some new office buildings being built in 2017 mainly in Prague.
