The Best Administrative Building of 2020 Has 177 Boreholes

The competition of the best projects on the Czech real estate market "Best of Realty 2020" knows the winners. ČSOB bank won in the category of New Administrative Centers with its southern part of the headquarters called SHQ located in Prague 5.

The jury was approached by the SHQ building thanks to the high quality of the working environment for employees, the connection with the existing ČSOB headquarters, the ecological solution, and the sensitive placement in the surrounding environment.

Best of Realty 2020 results in the New Administrative Centers category:

3rd Place: Vlněna Office Park - building C, D, E (Brno)

2nd Place: Churchill II (Prague 2)

Developer: Penta Real Estate
Architect: Jakub Cigler Architects, Aukett

1st Place: SHQ - New ČSOB Headquarters Building (Prague 5)

Developer: Radlice Rozvojová, ČSOB
Architect: Chalupa Architects

In the 22nd year of the Best of Realty 2020 competition, the new ČSOB headquarters in Prague 5 also won the Environmentally Friendly Project award.

Among other things, the building has the largest system of geothermal pumps in the Czech Republic with a total length of over 26 kilometers. A total of 177 boreholes 150 meters deep provide not only heating but also air conditioning. SHQ is also the first to be controlled using a 3D virtual model of the building. Compared to a standard building of the same size, it consumes 74% less energy.
