Who Are Starchitects And How Do Social Media Affect Architecture?

Video May 16, 2018  |  Text by Petra Baumruková Text by Petra Baumruková

Marc Kushner, CEO of Architizer, zooms through the past thirty years of architecture to show how the public, once disconnected, have become an essential part of the design process. With the help of social media, feedback reaches architects years before a building is even created. Digital media as such, according to Kushner, are the reason why starchitects such as Frank Gehry or Zaha Hadid emerged.

Architizer is the the first crowd sourced database for architecture online. Launched in 2009 it started a revolution in the way architects communicate their work online. It connects architects to a vibrant network of peers, fans, and potential clients.
