Adidas got something truly exceptional to its 70th birthday, which the company celebrated in August. The extensive World Of Sports complex in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria, was complemented by an office building called Arena. The building resembles a football stadium and as the name suggests, it should motivate employees to play sports.

Just as you enter the main gate you will be welcomed by 136 steps. “If you go up and down a staircase every day for the whole year, you burn as much energy as if you run a marathon,” says board member Karen Parkin. But that's not all, the outdoor areas of the building are full of sports grounds made of recycled sneakers.

The three-storey building has 52,000 m² and can accommodate up to 2,000 employees who can choose whether they want to work from the privacy of a traditional office or a common open space.
