2020 SKYSCRAPER COMPETITION WINNERS
1st place: Epidemic Babel
The skyscraper of Chinese architects D Lee, Gavin Shen, Weiyuan Xu, Xinhao Yuan is directly responding to the current coronavirus pandemic. Thanks to the simple steel construction to which the habitable boxes are attached, its construction is very fast and relatively easy. It can thus significantly strengthen the congested hospital system during a pandemic.
2nd place: Egalitarian Nature
The skyscraper by Yutian Tanga and Yuntao Xua from the United States of America embodies the human desire for nature in direct contrast to the pursuit of money. The building consists of abstract spaces connected by a winding path. It is accessible to the whole company regardless of capital. The only criterion is current physical fitness.
3rd place: Coast Breakwater
Senegal's fishing community is being forced to move further inland due to rising sea levels. Architects Charles Tzu Wei Chiang and Alejandro Moreno Guerrero have designed a shelter system on wooden pillars based on traditional Senegalese architecture.
The Skyscraper Competition has been announced by eVolo magazine since 2006. Its goal is to highlight the visionary projects of vertical buildings. See also the winners of previous years - an origami skyscraper or a vertical landfill complex.
